The Feasibility of Making an Artificial Vagina at the Time of Anterior Exenteration

Abstract
At the time of an anterior exenteration a space was successfully maintained in the pelvis for a vagina using a balsa wood splint covered with an amniotic membrane. Re-epithelialization occurred under the membrane by squamous cells from the vulva making it unnecessary to make an artificial vagina with asplit thickness graft.
