Abstract
The self-defocusing of an acoustic beam due to the phenomenon of acoustic streaming has been discussed. The defocusing effect increases the apparent coefficient of absorption and renders it to be intensity dependent. This is because the streaming is determined by the intensity of the ultrasonic beam. Keywords
