Abstract
The isotope shift of the deepest and levels of the helium atom is calculated by making use of the wave functions which were reported by one of the authors. The theoretical values of the specific isotope shift of the and levels are -636.00× and 453.83× , respectively, which are in fairly good agreement with the observed values (-642±5)× () and (461±5)× ().
