Abstract
A human cytomegalovirus (CMV) DNA probe was developed and hybridized to DNA extracted from brain tissue of 6 patients with schizophrenia and 6 control individuals. No CMV-related genetic information was detected in the DNA of these 12 individuals. Either CMV is not involved in schizophrenia or the genetic viral information, if present, is below the level of sensitivity of the present assay. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
