Abstract
Subjects, all full-time polytechnic students studying engineering, science and education (ns = 64, 10, 17), took the AH5 Intelligence Test and the modified rod-and-frame test. Significant differences between education students and others were found, indicating greater field-independence for the former, but no such differences were found between engineering and science students. Keywords
