To the Editor: Our staff has read with great interest in the New England Journal of Medicine for February 22 the article, "Vascular Occlusion of the Colon and Oral Contraceptives: Possible relation," by Kilpatrick and his associates, and the two cases cited by them.We have recently had occasion to observe a similar case and had likewise postulated a possible etiologic relation between oral contraceptive therapy and localized vascular occlusion of the transverse colon.H.B.D., a 39-year-old premenopausal woman of German extraction, had been in good health until seven days before admission, when she had recurrent cramping pain in the . . .
