Abstract
Treatment of cotton twill with liquid ammonia, followed by aqueous rinsing and drying left the fabric supple and soft. Pretreatment of cotton twill with liquid ammonia prior to cross-linking for durable press improved wash-wear rating and abrasion resistance. At the same time, it improved significantly the hand and reduced initial modulus of extension with improvement of resiliency. Keywords
