Abstract
LiNbO3 surface‐acoustic‐wave edge‐bonded transducers have been fabricated on ST quartz and 〈001〉 cut GaAs substrates. Efficient transduction has been demonstrated with fractional bandwidths of 50 and 91% for the ST quartz and GaAs substrates, respectively. The devices have a center frequency in the vicinity of 100 MHz. Conversion loss as low as 4 dB has been measured. A model which accurately predicts this transducer performance has been devised.Keywords
