Abstract

The C-26 atom of tomatidine, bearing the nitrogen atom, derives from the C-2 atom of MVA; from this it is inferred that the introduction of hydrogen at the C-25 atom of the Δ²⁴ biosynthetic intermediate occurs from the 24-si, 25-si face.
