Abstract
Thirty three compounds were identified by GC/MS in the essential oil from green and black berries of common Juniper (Juniperus communis L.). The major components were α-pinene (27.22–62.00%), limonene (1.31–30.96%), myrcene (5.41–20.23%), sabinene (0.27–16.47%) and citronellol (5.06–15.57%), depending upon whether black or green berries were used to produce the oil. Certain quantitative variations in the oil existed among the sampling locations. Keywords
