Abstract
A straight line relationship was found to exist between the conc. of proline and the yield of mycelium in a basal medium containing Czapek-Dox minerals and 4% lactose. Glutamic acid with proline increased the yield of penicillin almost 200%. Aspartic acid could substitute for glutamic acid. Histidine, methionine, tryptophane, hydroxyproline and phenylalanine had no effect. Keywords
