Abstract
An in vitro method for measuring antifoaming activity is descr. and applied to several substances. A methylpolysiloxane, designated as DC Antifoam A, having been found effective was studied for its ability to suppress epinephrine-induced pulmonary edema in rabbits. While pulmonary edema developed in all 10 controls, it failed to develop in 5 of 10 rabbits treated by inhalations with DCAA.Keywords
