Abstract
The contributions to lepton pair production due to single-particle quasielastic nuclear excitations are calculated using the second-quantization technique of Czyz. The nucleus has been approximated as a gas of noninteracting nucleons and the nucleon current has been expanded to terms of the order of . Numerical results are given for the case of pair production which is symmetric in energy and angles with a purely Coulomb interaction.
