Abstract
Preview They are problems no one wants to talk about. But like most disorders, constipation and fecal incontinence probably won't disappear by being ignored. To discover the specific type of problem present and the possible causes, physicians must overcome reluctance to discuss defecation disorders and pursue thorough history taking. Dr Rao summarizes methods for determining the underlying cause. In addition, he describes approaches to management that are often successful and help restore confidence and dignity to patients. Keywords
