Abstract
The optimum performance for emission-limited thermionic energy conversion is derived in convenient analytical form. The steps which are thereby indicated to reduce fundamental performance limitations are enumerated and briefly discussed. A figure of merit is defined with brief description of its usefulness and significance. A comparison of thermionic and thermoelectric conversion is thereby afforded by the analysis. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
