Inelastic proton scattering as a test of the new collective-‘‘current’’M1mode in deformed nuclei

Abstract
It is shown that additional information from the (p,p’) reaction can provide an important test of the nature of the M1 excitations recently observed in deformed nuclei via electromagnetic studies and interpreted to be collective current excitations.Keywords
