Abstract
The soft mode, Goldstone mode and a new ferroelectric mode have been detected in the Sm C* phase of a fluorinated compound. The dielectric increment of the Goldstone mode found in the Sm G* phase is by about one order of magnitude tower in comparison with that found in the Sm C* phase. In addition to collective processes, in both chiral phases a biased reorientation of molecules around their long axes contributes to the dielectric increment. Keywords
