Abstract
The observation of a satellited Y chromosome in a French Canadian family line (1967) was confirmed by the use of the ammoniacal silver procedure which selectively stains the nucleolus organizer regions (NOR) in acrocentric human chromosomes. This peculiar chromosome apparently resulted from a satellited segment from a D or G autosome being translocated to the distal end of the long arm of the Y chromosome.
