Abstract
Heat-transfer solutions have been obtained for pulsating laminar flow between parallel plates. The pulsations are caused by superposing an oscillating pressure gradient on the steady driving pressure of the flow. Two types of heat-transfer boundary conditions are considered: (a) The channel walls are at constant temperature; or (b) a specified uniform heat flux is transferred at the walls. The heat-transfer behavior is obtained along the entire length of the channel, that is, in both the thermal entrance and fully developed regions. The temperature distributions are two-dimensional, but a slug flow (one-dimensional) assumption is used to simplify the velocity distribution. The results are compared with those obtained using a quasi-steady assumption. Keywords
