Abstract
Introduction In 1929, Hausman and Haxthausen1 wrote a monograph on the subject of diseases of the skin due to light, with a classification of the polymorphic light-sensitive eruptions. Lamb and collaborators,2 in 1950, presented a modified classification which is generally used by dermatologists at the present time. It is the purpose of this paper to suggest the addition of another syndrome to the group of light-sensitive dermatoses. Several years ago we recognized a characteristic cyclic dermatosis of the face, occurring almost exclusively in young women, associated with seborrhea capitis, and running a capricious course apparently uninfluenced by any type of treatment. In February, 1954, a patient with this eruption called to our attention two exacerbations which she experienced following exposure to sunlight and snow glare.
