Abstract
The local, contact, haematogenous and allergic complications of smallpox vaccinations are reviewed and grouped under the headings of early and late postvaccinial eruptions. Three patients are reported who after primary vaccination developed on the 14th, 20th and 22nd day respectively skin lesions in which virus could not be demonstrated. The morphology of these eruptions was essentially varioliform but may range from erythema multiforme and erythema nosodum to severe, haemorrhagic exanthemata. Keywords
