Abstract
A strain gauge plethysmograph device with a DC bridge supplied from a constant current source is described. The theoretical advantage of using a constant current source is discussed. An electrical calibration unit facilitates the clinical use of the plethysmograph. The electrical calibration method is compared with a mechanical one. The frequency response of the plethysmo graph, with the strain gauges mounted in working position is studied. Keywords
