Abstract
Bony changes in the cochlear region and their relation to the incidence and character of otosclerosis point very strongly toward the fact that otosclerosis does affect the cochlea, and that it causes sensorineural hearing losses of a degree comparable to the amount of bony change present. The x-ray evidence does not prove that otosclerosis causes the sensorineural hearing loss. It is believed that cochlear otosclerosis is a most frequent etiological factor in sensorineural hearing losses, and is a far more prevalent cause for such losses than heretofore was suspected. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
