Abstract
Polarized reflectance spectra were measured on the single crystals of α-(BEDT–TTF)3(ReO4)2 and α-(BEDT–TTF)2I3. The optical spectra of these materials were interpreted on the basis of a simple semimetallic band model, and the anisotropic character of the intermolecular interaction in these crystals was quantitatively examined by analyzing the observed spectra. The observed temperature dependence of reflectance spectrum reflects the change of the electronic structure accompanying the metal-insulator phase transition, and is consistent with our interpretation of the spectra. This publication has 21 references indexed in Scilit:
