Abstract
The study of the flint industry of the two soundings (East and West) made by H. de Contenson at Tell Aswad shows the existence of an ancient occupation (Phase IA, 7800- 7600) in accordance with the С14 datations. The industry, corresponding to that of Mureybet III, is characterized by the exchdsiveness of notched arrowheads in the weapon category. As the transition phase Ib which succeeds to it, it concerns the eastern part of the tell only. A more recent occupation of the VIIth millenium (Phase II), where the weapons are essentially made of Byblos, Amuq and oval points, has been found in both soundings. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
