Abstract
Presentation of Case First admission. A 56-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of pneumonia.She was well until three months previously, when a chronic nasal dryness became more severe. An x-ray film of the chest was normal except for calcification at the apex of the right lung. On the advice of a physician she began to use mineral-oil nose drops 10 to 20 times daily; they were instilled in the supine position, followed by deep inhalations.
