Abstract
Extract As no statistical surveys have previously been undertaken, factual knowledge of the incidence and specific epidemiological problems of the cestodes affecting domestic and wild animals in New Zealand is limited. This permits a certain degree of speculation (hence the title of this paper), on the extent of problems of control and the methods which may have to be adopted against Echinococcus granulosus, Taenia hydatigena, T. ovis, and Multiceps multiceps.
