Abstract
Summary: Feline lymphosarcoma was shown to be the most common neoplastic disease of cats in the Sydney area, and the only one found in cats under the age of two years. The disease was readily transmitted to neonatal kittens by inoculation of tissue extracts or plasma from infected cases. Typical feline C‐type virus particles were observed in spontaneous and transmitted cases.Inoculation of a continuous line of kitten embryo cells with plasma from a spontaneous case of lymphosarcoma produced alteration in the growth characteristics of the cells. Altered cells inoculated into neonatal kittens produced lymphosarcoma within seven weeks. Keywords
