Abstract
A method is presented to obtain a simplified dielectric function for thin films, incorporating quantum-size effects for electron-hole pairs excitations. By a proper generalisation to spheres, we analyse the photoabsorption of these systems. Our results show interesting quantum-size effects associated with resonances of electron-hole pairsKeywords
