Abstract
The technologies required to build a feedback multiplier flat-panel display are described. An overview of the total processing of a panel is given. Then new technologies are discussed including the shaping of nonplanar Al-Mg dynodes, the anodic bonding of the dynodes to glass support vanes, the accurate assembly of the vanes, and the interconnection of thousands of electrodes. The in-situ activation of efficient secondary electron emitters is also discussed. In each case, experimental results with small-scale models are presented. The techniques developed and demonstrated should be extendable to the mass production of full-size panels at reasonable cost. Keywords
