Abstract
The following are the essential points of the results obtained from our studies of the Q-substance: 1) The Q-substance is found already present at the second foetal month and it develops gradually as gestation progresses. 2) At the beginning of the foetal period, the development is somewhat weak but during the second half of the period, it develops rapidly and reaches approximately the adult strength at the eighth month. 3) According to Ino (1950), 4) the Q-sustance shows the highest strength at parturition and rapidly wanes thereafter. According to our results, on the other hand, the strength does not drop after parturition. Keywords
