Abstract
Silanol groups on the interlayer surface of layered polysilicic acids (H-magadiite and H-kenyaite) were silylated by reaction with diphenylmethylchlorosilane. Dodecyltrimethylammonium magadiite and kenyaite intercalation compounds were used as the intermediates for the conversion. The interlayer modification was confirmed by XRD, IR, 29Si-MAS NMR and elemental analysis. Keywords
