Abstract
A physician can do many things to help the terminal cancer patient live out his remaining days in comfort and dignity. Reassurance that pain can and will be controlled should be given early, and there are many ways to control pain without resorting to morphine. Even little things such as adjustment of eyeglasses and attention to minor medical problems can make a big difference. Keywords
