Lifetime of the 5s6p1P1 Level of Strontium and Related Oscillator Strengths

Abstract
The lifetime of the second excited singlet P level, 5s6p1P1, of strontium has been measured using the Hanle effect of the 5s4d1D2 – 5s6p1P1, 7169 Å, transition. The lifetime of the 5s6p1P1 level is 3.64 ± 0.14 ns. Oscillator strengths for the transitions from the 5s6p1P1 level are discussed. There are large discrepancies.
