Abstract
Describes a relativistic generalisation of the spin density functional formalism. The full Feynman propagator is presented and discussed. Effective single-particle Dirac equations for the polarised gas are given. Effective one-particle potentials for the magnetised gas are calculated in the local density scheme. These results are displayed graphically and their significance discussed. Keywords
