Abstract
Summary Direct evidence indicates sensitivity of the renal macula densa to urinary sodium excretion. The macula densa is suggested to act as a chemoreceptor responsive to the amount of tubular sodium and transmitting signals to the juxtaglomerular cells. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
