Abstract
A survey was made of the principal countries trading in eucalyptus oil. The findings show the current world requirement is 2000 to 3000 tonnes annually with a turnover of $A 5 to 7 million. China has the major share (45 per cent) of the world market. Australia supplies less than 3 per cent. The Australian eucalyptus oil industry is viewed in the perspective of the world trade, and the outlook for the industry is discussed. It is concluded that the Australian industry is heavily dependent on the supplying of cineole oil to markets in South East Asia. Keywords
