Abstract
Tipula paludosa Meigen was recently introduced into the United States, where it is a pest of turf and forages. This study showed that several insecticides can provide control in ornamental turf. The economic injury level for forage was found to be 50 larvae/ft2 (538 larvae/m2) during spring in Washington. The suggested insecticidal control on forage is methyl parathion at 0.5 lb AI/acre (0.56 kg AI/ha) applied between mid-March and mid-April.
