Abstract
Eggs of C. perdistinctus (Viereck) laid in 3- to 5-day-old larvae of the tobacco budworm, Heliothis virescens (F.), developed to the cocoon stage in 8.1 days and t the adult stage in 14.5 days when they were reared in the laboratory at 36[degree]C. Average development period to cocoon stage in 1-day-old larvae was 1/4 longer and the maximum almost 2 times longer than in the older larvae. In field tests, 200 2-day-old larvae of the tobacco budworm and 4, 8, 16, or 32 pairs of adult C. perdistinctus were introduced into 1.8 X1.8Xll-m (6X6X26-ft) cages; incidence of parasitism was greater (82%) when 8 females were used than when 4 females were used (52%), but it did not increase when 16 or 32 females were used. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
