Four-Pion Decay of thef0Meson

A search for the ${\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{-}{\pi }^{-}$ decay mode of the $f^0\mathrm{}\left(1260\right)\mathrm{}$ has been made in 7.87-GeV/c ${\pi }^{+}d$ interactions. We find no evidence for this decay. The ratio of this decay mode relative to the dipion decay mode of the $f^0$ is consistent with zero and less than 3.3% with 90% confidence.
