Abstract
The guinea pig was reported to have a very low insulin concentration in the pancreas. It was found that this was true for male (246–378 g) and female (236–318 g) immature guinea pigs but that mature male (760–1023 g) and female (476–554 g) guinea pigs have considerably higher levels (e.g. 1.4 units per gram pancreas for mature males as compared to 0.26 unit/g for immature males). Keywords
