Abstract
The reduction of irreducible representations of the superalgebra spl(1,2) to the subsuperalgebra osp(1,2) is given explicitly. The oscillator representations are discussed in detail and their relevance for nuclear physics is outlined by a simple model containing three ground-state nuclei. The results have important implications on a recently suggested mechanism for the symmetry breaking of spl(6,2m) via osp(6,2m).Keywords
