Abstract
On June 19, 2007, a conference was held in Chicago, Illinois: the “NFL Health and Safety Meeting” on mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI). The invited audience consisted of National Football League (NFL) team physicians, certified athletic trainers, other team medical personnel, NFL League Office representatives, and members from the NFL Players Association. A wide range of expert presenters from the fields of neurology, neurosurgery, sports medicine, biomechanical engineering, neuroradiology, neuropsychology, and athletic training participated in discussions on a number of topics related to MTBI (concussion) in NFL players. The speakers included members of the NFL Committee on MTBI as well as non-Committee members.
