Abstract
Obesity represents a large and increasing public health problem,1 being a risk factor for overall mortality2 and for most chronic diseases, including cancer, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, and musculoskeletal disorders.3-5 The economic costs related to obesity are also substantial and affect both the obese individuals and society as a whole.6,7
