Abstract
The effect of an intensive magnetic field on the dynamics of blood flow is still unknown at the present time. This paper deals with a mathematical model of the blood flow in a large blood vessel such as the ascending aorta, in the presence of a strong magnetic field. the aortic blood flow induced by a time-varying pressure gradient is analyzed in terms of a Navier-Stokes equation solved by a finite Hankel transform. the relationship between the velocity profile in the aorta and the magnetic field is derived. It is shown that a magnetic field of 49.8 k Gauss may retard the blood velocity by ten percent.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
