Abstract
Results of expts. designed to test the antithyroid properties of milk from thyroidectomized goats fed to both normal and hyperthyroid rats are reported. Metabolism detns., using a closed system respiration apparatus, were used as criteria. Milk of thyroidectomized goats had a suppressing action on the metabolic rate of both normal and hyperthyroid rats. This effect is attributed to the presence of an antithyroxin principle in the milk of thyroidectomized goats. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
