A Case of Papular Dermatosis in Man Attributed to an Ascid Mite (Acari)

Abstract
A papular dermatosis on the lower legs of a male aged 35 possibly resulted from the presence of a free-living mite, Proctolaelaps pygmaeus (Ascidae). This is the 3rd record of P. pygmaeus from New Zealand, and the 1st provisional record of it causing irritation to a human in this country.
