SOME ASPECTS OF THE SQUARE WAVE RESPONSE FUNCTION OF RADIOGRAPHIC SCREEN-FILM SYSTEMS

Abstract
The square wave response function (SWRF) is a convenient means for comparing the light-diffusion properties of screen-film systems; SWRF's are presented in this paper for several common screenfilm systems. Experiments have shown that the measured SWRF is in agreement with that calculated from the line spread-function. The invariance of the SWRF with x-ray energy is demonstrated over a wide range of radiation qualities.
