Abstract
Simple expressions for the cost and efficiency of repetitively-pulsed angularly multiplexed KrF laser fusion drivers have been developed for commercial-applications studies. These simple expressions summarize estimates obtained from detailed cost/performance studies incorporating recent results of ongoing physics, design, and cost studies. Contributions of KrF laser capital charges and O&M costs to total levelized constant-dollar (1984) unit ICF power generation cost are estimated as a function of plant size and driver pulse energy using a published gain for short-wavelength lasers and representative values of plant parameters. Keywords
