Abstract
An earlier prescription for calculating states of hydrogen in arbitrary magnetic fields, which had been applied only to ground states of any given azimuthal symmetry, is now extended to states with longitudinal excitation. The numerical results are simple to obtain and compare favorably with an alternative calculation of such longitudinally excited states that has been presented recently. Adoption of the present procedure is recommended for calculating excited states, particularly at larger field strengths (≃ G).
